Avila Dolphins Open Water Swim

If you want to go out and swim with other ocean swimming enthusiasts, drop by Avila Beach on any Sunday. The Avila Dolphins Open Water Swim is held every Sunday year round. We meet on the beach between 10:30 and 10:45, discuss the days conditions, agree on a route(s), suit up (if so inclined) and get in the water at 11:00. When the days are longer we also venture out on Wednesday evenings. We meet up around 5:15 and get in by about 5:30. Find out more.

Avon 39 - Santa Barbara Walk

2 days, 39.3 miles. 39ers banding together in Santa Barbara have one goal: to take breast cancer down. AVON 39 is a force of change that can’t be stopped. The Avon Breast Cancer Crusade focuses on care and seeks to help across the continuum of breast cancer – not only helping those who are at risk or diagnosed with the disease today, but also research into finding better treatments for tomorrow. Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers

The mission of the Central Coast Concerned Mountain Bikers (CCCMB) is to expand the network of sustainable trails in SLO County and to maintain the trails currently in use. Help us keep the trails of SLO County open and fun to ride by joining us for trail work. Also, for good karma, be cool with others on the trail: always ride in control and don't run over people, animals or plants. Find out more. 

 

Cuesta College Community Programs

Cuesta College Community Programs has a diverse and specialized Aquatics Program, offering a heated therapy pool, aqua fitness, adapted aquatics, family S.P.L.A.S.H. days, and lap swimming. They also offer team activities, such as Gnarly Gnarwhals Swim Club, Lifeguarding, and Masters Water Polo. Find out more. 

 

Pismo Beach Junior Lifeguard Program

The philosophy of the Pismo Beach Junior Lifeguard Program is based on safety, health, fun, and respect. Physical fitness, an open mind, and a positive attitude are the key elements to fun and success. Our learning environment will optimize ocean awareness and safety as well as the respect and specialized skills it takes to become a lifeguard. San Luis Distance Club

The San Luis Distance Club was formed in 1974 by a group of local residents to promote distance running in San Luis Obispo County. The activities of the club include the sponsorship of races within the county, fielding teams at various levels of competition, and conducting youth and open track and distance workouts. Membership is open to all ages and ability levels and the club is affiliated with the national Road Runners Club of America and the Pacific Association of USA Track & Field. Find out more.

Team In Training - Central Coast Chapter

Since its inception in 1988, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training campaign (TNT) has raised over $1.4 billion dollars and trained over 625,000 participants to complete an endurance event; such as a half or full marathon, cycling event, triathlon or hike adventure. Our athletes have walked away with new friends, amazing accomplishments and the sense that they did something even more important than getting in good shape – they have helped us to create a world without blood cancer.
