I love this store! I am not from San Luis Obispo and was visiting a friend whom I was meeting at a local gym in the vicinity. I stopped into this store because I needed a sports bra to work out in. The staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a changing room where I could try on several bras until finding the perfect fit. The owner even came out to make sure I was completely satisfied with my purchase offering to "special make one" to fit my size if not on the rack. Also, this bra is great for big breasted women such as myself and really has a great "built in" control top. I purchased the Gh Support Sports Bra and just love it! It fits great, is firm yet comfortable, has pockets for your mp3 player or phone, and you can wear under or over clothes. Additionally, my heart rate monitor strap fits perfect underneath the bra and I don't even know it's there! This is a "must have" sports bra for anyone who is active.

GH Sports is a wonderful store and has a very close place in my heart. They specialize in multisport clothing, running shoes, and accessories. They have a wide variety of apparel such as swim suits, triathlon clothing, cycling clothing, run clothing, and gym clothing. If you are an active person, they will have what you need. They are also family owned and operated by the Hinds, and they are legends in the world of triathlon clothing! They also manufacture their own clothing in house which is always a fun thing to go checkout! The running shoe selection is top notch, and the staff knows how to analyze your feet and get you the correct shoe. Finally, they have one of the best selections of endurance nutrition products in San Luis Obispo. They have the best products from the best brands such as Fluid, Hammer Gel, Gu, and Bonk Breaker! If you are a local and need technical clothing, you have got to check these guys out! Also, it is more then worth your time to see their running shoe collection. Finally, their staff is incredibly friendly! Thanks for reading! |

Came here with a few buddies to find some running shoes. The place is really small, but has some nice shoes and supplements. What I want to note is that if you're looking for a pair of running shoes, they take the time to see what shoe is really best for you. They have a treadmill that you run on and it checks how your running style is. The staff also takes an imprint of your foot to see how much of an arch it has. These people know about your feet. That's what a sports store should do if they sell shoes. Not that great of a selection for anything else, or not that I've seen, but good amount of shoes, supplements, and you get free samples for the supplements! |

With my very first marathon (and hopefully not my last) two weeks away, my wonderful mother decided to buy me my marathon shoes during a weekend home visit to good ole SLO. GH Sports Outlet is conveniently located right by Kennedy Club Fitness....you can hop over before or after your workout to get even more gear. The man that helped me was beyond knowledgeable, patient, and HELPFUL. I've been training in New Balances, which have worked out ok. He analyzed my "gait" while I ran on a treadmill and outside on the pavement. He then proceeded to give me 8 or so different types of shoes to try on that would best suit my feet. After some test runs, I found the perfect pair- and who knew- they were Saucony- a brand I never would have considered as I've always been a New Balance or Aasics gal. Two weeks of breaking these shoes in and my feet feel wonderful. It was worth the visit to Ghsports Outlet and I am very grateful for the kind help I received. |

Greg is the owner and quite possibly the best running shoe guru (admittedly maybe the only) I know. I had heard rumors of a store in San Luis that actually did video analysis on your running gait (or stride) and then expertly suggested running shoes to fit your style and comfort. Not only was it very thorough and Greg as I said was an absolute wizard when suggesting shoes but the over all experience was very fun. For those of you who've seen Harry Potter think of the scene where he gets his first wand. That man who picks the perfect wand is Greg except he's giving you your first pair of real running shoes that could possibly have a Pheonix Feather in them (or not). But you get my drift? Cool, now we can move on... There's an adorable dog that acts as customer service around the shop and is exceptional with kids and adults alike. Nothing but satisfied customers, I'm sure doggy treats would be accepted as tips. The store has everything you could want for tri-athlon's and most anything related: running, swimming, and biking. Clothing, suits, supplements/nutrition, and I believe some of it is even made in house. I gave Greg 5 stars due to the customer service, detail and care that is given to each customer for helping them find the running shoe and over all selection. It's hard to find stores now that specialize in a specific area and do it well. GH Sports has done it. If you run at all, go in and check him out, you won't be disappointed. Something I figure worth noting: Gregory Hind is the previous owner of Hind sports clothing that was ever so popular in the 80's and even patented a few sports clothing technologies. Hind sports (note the street name that GH Sports resides on) was sold to Saucony for a large sum of money and Greg could have retired. Instead I believe he opened GH Sports and continues to serve our community out of sheer love of the sport. Another weird piece of SLO trivia. |

This review is for GH Sports in SLO, which I think is the same as the "outlet". Wonderful store with really friendly staff. Definitely your mom and pop source for gear - they make their own branded clothing in-house! You can save some $$, and you may just like it. They also have a great selection of gear and nutritio n for the endurance athlete. I love going there to buy my running shoes - after you buy ten pairs, you get a free pair. They also do video analysis of your running to get you in the right type of shoe. I stop by once in a while, even when I don't need anything, just to see what new stuff they have. They also dabble in carrying certain things - like they started carrying triathlon wetsuits for a while, maybe they still do. And they were selling Manduka yoga gear (also a local company) too. They'll special order stuff if it's not in the store. They do have a website, but I recommend going into the store. _Lots_ of swimming gear by the way...fins, paddles, flippers, etc. ONLY reason they don't get five stars is because they don't carry everything under the sun. |
