Cal Poly Men’s Cross Country take 2nd at National Championships

For the first time in club history, Cal Poly Distance Club makes the podium on the National Stage. Congratulations Cal Poly Distance Club for its many successes during the 2018 NIRCA Club Cross Country National Championships!

The Cal Poly Men’s Team took 2nd place in the Country!!

Daniel Van Beurden received 1st, winning the JR/SR class race.

Cameron Priest received 3rd, winning the FR/SO class race.

Runners Sam Nishi (3rd), Thomas Busse (8th), and Niklas Sjogren (10th) received “All-American” marks.

These medals and honors were not earned easily as the Cal Poly Distance Club competed against 300 elite qualifiers from over 150 clubs in the country with 1,500+ racers competing this year.

The Team utilized the GH Munich Light Pant V2 (men and women) for warmup in the below freezing weather (~20°F)!
